Highway 70 Yard Sale begins, drawing thrifters in abundance

JACKSON, Tenn. — You know that saying, “finders keepers” — that’s what most were doing Thursday if they see the right deal driving down Highway 70.

The annual Highway 70 Yard Sale kicked off Thursday and will run through June 8, stretching from Memphis to Nashville.

This event has been considered a favorite among many West Tennessee thrifters for more than 20 years.

It’s certainly not unusual to see cars stopped on the side of the road this time of the year.

“The people that have stuff to sell come out. We set up spots for the vendors,” said Donna Thomas. “We get to meet all kinds of wonderful people from Nashville all the way to Memphis. And we just… It’s really great to just be part of the community and have people coming by and chatting and talking”

There’s still time to get on the search for that pleasant surprise.
