Annual Fishing Rodeo returns to Muse Park
JACKSON, Tenn.—Families head out to Muse Park to take part in some “reel’ fun!
The annual fishing rodeo returned to Muse Park today.
The event was held from 8 this morning until noon.
Children were invited to come to the park and try their hand at fishing.
Participants ranging from 5-15-years-old were divided into four different groups for the rodeo.
The event offered the chance at prizes, giveaways, and awards for the participants.
Madison Co. Parks and Rec. partners with Jackson Parks and Rec. to provide this event for the local community.
They say it presents an opportunity for children to get outdoors and also learn to fish.
“We’ve been doing this for years now and we just wanted to get together and have a fishing event, to get people out the house, get the kids out the house, so they can learn nature and everything, you know, stuff like that,” said Tony Ragland, Assistant Director at Madison Co. Parks and Recreation.
The rodeo coincides with the Bobby Wilson Free Fishing Day in Tennessee, which allows residents and visitors of the state to fish for free without a license.
