Shirley Ann Wilson Williams

Shirley Ann Wilson Williams, age 81, resident of Ripley, Tennessee and wife of the late Charles “Leon” Williams, Sr., departed this life Sunday morning, June 9, 2024 at Lauderdale Community Living Center in Ripley.

Shirley was born July 8, 1942 in Tipton County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Calvin McClain Wilson, Jr. and Dollie Ann Knight Wilson. She was a Godly Christian woman who loved her church and attended church every time the doors were open. She was a homemaker throughout her life and enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and playing tic-tac-toe and card games.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her son, Kenneth Williams, Sr. of Gallaway, TN; two brothers, Marvin Wilson (Mildred) of Ripley, TN and Tommy Wilson (Eula) of Ripley, TN; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia “Diane” Williams Tapp; her son, Charles L. Williams, Jr.; two sisters, Wilma Goodwin and Oma Archie; and brothers, Bud Wilson, Carlton Wilson and Bobby Joe Wilson.

Visitations for Mrs. Williams will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, June 12, 2024 and from 12 noon until 2 P.M. Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Funeral Services will be at 2 P.M. Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Personal remarks will be given by Kenneth Williams. Interment will follow in Hood Cemetery in the Warren Community.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Benjamin Williams, David “Leon” Williams, Noah South, Steven Gruthoff and Brett Cothram.
