Top 10 crimes Tennesseans are arrested for
JACKSON, Tenn. — A new study reveals the top 10 crimes people in Tennessee get arrested for.
Research from Omega Law Group used FBI data to find which crimes people are getting arrested for the most in each state from 2021-2022.
In Tennessee, drug abuse violations took the top spot, with 81,188 recorded arrests in that timeframe.
Simple assault ranked second, with driving under the influence rounding out the top three.

The study also looked at the demographics of those arrested, with male arrests at 70% and female arrests at 30%.
Finally, data shows that the age group arrested the most in Tennessee is 30-34, comprising 16% of all arrests.
