Undercover drug operation leads to arrest
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE WEST TENNESSEE DRUG TASK FORCE - 28TH, 29TH, 30TH DISTRICTS:
BRADFORD, TN: On 6/13/24 Agents with the 28th Judicial District out of Gibson County conducted an undercover drug operation in and around the City of Bradford.
During the operation, undercover Agents ordered 1 ounce of methamphetamine from a suspect, later identified as Devin Woods, 35, of Bradford.
Woods delivered the meth to a residence near Bradford. Upon arrival, Agents attempted to arrest Woods who fled on foot throwing the meth into a pasture. Agents deployed a taser and were fought by Woods before getting him into custody. Agents located the thrown meth and called Gibson County Sheriff’s Department for assistance in transporting. While the Deputy was placing Woods into the patrol car, Woods again fled, while handcuffed, and was tased a second time and taken into custody. He was then transported to the Gibson County jail.
Agents had developed probable cause and applied for a search warrant to search Woods’s house on Griffin Chapel St. In Bradford. Upon searching, Agents discovered and seized another 11-1/2 ounces of meth and scales from the home. In total, Agents seized just over 3/4 lbs. of methamphetamine.
Woods is being charged with:
- Delivery of schedule II drugs
- Evading arrest
- Resisting arrest
- Attempted escape
- Possession of schedule II drugs w/intent
This case is being prosecuted by the office of the District Attorney General for the 28th Judicial District, Frederick Agee.
