Judith Elaine Marbury “Judy” Welch

Judith Elaine Marbury “Judy” Welch, 80, died peacefully in her home in Charleston, SC surrounded by her family. Judy was a faithful servant of the Lord and served her family and her community for many years.

Judy was born in Henning, TN, graduated from Kingsbury High School, and attended Memphis State University prior to joining Delta Airlines as a flight attendant. Until her retirement she served 30 years as a contact representative for the US Railroad Retirement board where she received numerous accolades for outstanding service to America’s railroad retiree community.

Judy is survived by her two sons, Wade Morgan (Kimberly), Seth Morgan (Gray), one stepdaughter, Michelle Brasfield (Reed); and nine grandchildren: Spencer Morgan, Morgan Monroe, Claire Morgan, Dawsey Morgan, Lily Brasfield, Hamilton Morgan, Collier Morgan, Jake Morgan, and Marbury Morgan. She is also survived by her brother William David Marbury (Roxie).

Judy is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Joseph Welch; her father William Dosy Marbury, and her mother Florence Verlinda Ellington Marbury.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.  Burial will follow at the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024, from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.

In lieu of flowers, Judy’s family requests that donations be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4825 Trousdale Drive, Suite 220, Nashville, TN 37220. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
