Months-long drug investigation ends with RV barricade, 2 arrests
PRESS RELEASE FROM JOHNIE CARTER WITH THE WEST TENNESSEE DRUG TASK FORCE - 28TH, 29TH, 30TH DISTRICTS:
GIBSON COUNTY, TN. – On the evening of 6/17/24, Agents with the 28th Judicial District out of Gibson County brought an eight month investigation to an end with the seizure of a large amount of narcotics and two arrests.
During the months long investigation, Agents tracked Jonathon Forrest, 42, throughout middle and west Tennessee and at times even into Kentucky.
Last night, Agents tracked Forrest, who also had multiple felony warrants outstanding for his arrest, to an R.V. parked at a residence on Tull Road in the Mason-Hall Community of Gibson County.
On arrival, Forrest barricaded himself inside of the R.V. Agents requested the assistance of the Gibson County Sheriff’s SWAT and K-9 units who responded to the scene. Forrest eventually surrendered to Agents without further incident.
Agents obtained probable cause to apply for and receive a search warrant for the property. Inside of the R.V., Agents discovered evidence that Forrest had flushed multiple bags of methamphetamine into the sewage tank of the R.V. before surrendering. Also recovered was approximately 6 ounces (165 grams) of meth, 14 ounces (395 grams) of psilocybin, 2.7 pounds of marijuana, 90 alprazolam pills, 3 hydrocodone pills, a felony amount of heroin and a large amount of packaging materials for resale.

1 count casual exchange of schedule II drugs.

1 count possession of schedule VI drugs with intent.

1 count of tampering with evidence.

1 count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
While Agents were on the scene waiting on a search warrant, a woman, later identified as Rachel Morgan, 49, pulled up to the scene driving the vehicle that initially brought Forrest to the residence. As Deputies attempted to stop her, she fled from the scene leading Deputies on a brief pursuit before being arrested without further incident.
