Alamo mayor dedicates June 14 to police captain following his retirement

ALAMO, Tenn. — A retired Alamo police captain is honored for his service.

A retirement luncheon was held today for Barnie Robertson at Alamo City Hall.

John Avery Emison, Mayor of Alamo, officially proclaimed June 21, 2024 as Captain Barnie Lynn Robertson Day.

He urges all Alamo citizens to acknowledge Robertson’s contribution to the community.

Robertson served for 30 years on the police force.

“I never got seriously hurt and I never seriously had to hurt nobody. And the group of guys that I work with? Some of the best guys I ever worked with in my life and I’m just, I’m glad that it’s over with for me but I’m gonna miss it. I’m definitely gonna miss it,” said Robertson.

Robertson says he plans to spend his retirement taking time to stay home and relax.
