Family releases feathered friends after raising them from birth

JACKSON, Tenn. — Some local residents are now empty nesters, but instead of children they were busy raising 13 ducklings.

Julie Carrozi and Madeleine raised the ducks from birth.

Feeding them worms and putting a blanket over them and their mother during cold nights.

And when the mother duck decided it was time to walk the ducklings down to the water at a local lake, the community joined in.

Neighbor, Mark Steiner, even built the ducks a safe home and others help with feeding them now that they have their freedom.
