JACKSON, Tenn. — Soak up the sun and let the good times flow!
On a hot summer day, T.R. White Sportsplex invites kids as well as their parents to enjoy their pool.
Hilliard Baker III, the recreation specialist, said that they just want the kids to have something fun to do while they’re on break for school.
He said that swimming is a good stress reliever.
“With the hot temperatures, who doesn’t want to stay cool. So we just want to offer the kids a good, nice place to come and especially a good cool place to come. I think one day we may have had up to 50 people in the pool, but we can only have so many due to having only a limited number of lifeguards. But as far as participation goes, the community has been coming out, having fun and getting wet,” said Baker.
Baker told us the times that the community can participate in a good swim.
“Our swimming hours are Monday through Friday for the public from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The price is $2.00 a person. On Saturday, it’s open from 12 p.m. Until 4 p.m,” said Baker.
There’s no need to worry if your child will be harmed during their swim. T.R. White has trained lifeguards on duty for you.
“It’s been kind of a struggle finding lifeguards, but the lifeguards we have are at the top of the list,” said Baker.
Westwood Recreation center is also open for public swimming from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
