Jackson Housing Authority’s Family Expo brings people together

JACKSON, Tenn. — A local event brings families and local officials together.

The Jackson Housing Authority held their annual Family Expo Thursday.

Different companies and social agencies were present at this event such as Brasfield Construction Incorporated contractors, Jackson State Community College and the Jackson Police Department.

Jackson police officers also grilled all the food provided to each participants.

Gifts were given out including a $50 dollar gift to whoever visited every booth as well as a $50 dollar gift given to residents who attended the event and are a part of JHA.

“We’ve got some great partners here. Great partners here in the city of Jackson. They’ve all come together for this event and to help some of those again that are most vulnerable when it comes to transportation and getting information. So we brought it to the people today. That’s what it was all about, bringing this information to the people,” said Mark Reid, executive director of JHA.

The next event will be July 17 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Lincoln Courts Circle.
