Madison County Republican Party hosts presidential debate watch party
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Madison County Republican Party hosted a watch party for tonight’s first presidential debate of the 2024 election season.
“Its been such a interesting time in our country and we think its important-super important for people to hear the candidates and to get past all of the fluff and all of the crazy stuff that gets put out there in the press and hear what they have to say,” said Brad Greer with the Madison County Republican party.
Greer shares that this is a collaboration with Americans for Prosperity West TN Chapter.
There was talk of fun activities for those that are watching to enjoy.
“It’s gonna be great. We’re gonna play a couple of little games probably throughout the night. Whoever guesses the closest thing will when a prize it’s gonna be a lot of fun,” said Cleek.
Both Greer and Cleek shared that they are hoping that the American economy would be discussed by both President Biden and former President Trump.
Greer also mentioned that the support for the military and the border would be a discussion in tonight’s debate.
“The economy or what Americans for Prosperity calls ‘Bidenomics’, this is a term that actually Biden coined, but our website that we made for this narrative www.bidenomics.com highlights how those policies have been failing the American people and the American economy,” said Cleek.
Both share that they hope this is a productive and clean debate and Greer leaves a piece of advice for voters.
“They say all politics is local and really and truly I think most of us, even we though care about what’s going on in the country, where we can really be effective is locally,” said Greer.
We reached out to speak with members of the democratic party to see if they were hosting a watch party but unfortunately we were unable to find any.
