Gibson Co. Memorial Library hosts ‘Summer Reading Closing Ceremony’

TRENTON, Tenn. — A local library celebrates the joys of reading.

Gibson County Memorial Library held their big summer reading finale Monday morning.

It was in partnership with multiple county emergency departments.

Their summer reading program promotes literacy and education, encouraging children and teens to explore the joy of books and educational activities.

The event included a fun zone obstacle and water slide, Hooker Farms petting zoo, face painting, prize drawings, snacks, and other games, as well as a Pizza Hut pizza party.

“We have all kinds of free events you can go on are Facebook and just show up,” said Hannah Britt, youth services librarian.

Additionally, the program emphasized the importance of emergency personnel and their vehicles.
