Milan Parks and Recreation hosts 7th annual 4th of July celebration

MILAN, Tenn. — One local town just can’t wait to get started in celebrating our nation’s independence.

Milan’s Recreation and Parks Department is hosting its annual 4th of July celebration at Milan City Park.

Now in it’s 7th year, the celebration brings out people from across the area and plenty of food as well as almost a dozen food trucks to enjoy.

Organizers say this event really brings the community closer.

“It’s just a great community event, a good night for people to come out and it’s a little hot tonight. We have a lot of shade here at the park and our fireworks are sponsored by Ceco Door here in Milan and so we want to thank them for that as well,” said Allyson Harris, community development for Milan’s Recreation and Parks Dept.

Plus the celebration was capped off with a huge fireworks display which got underway at around 9 p.m.
