Jackson Rockabillys host ‘Red Cross Night’

JACKSON, Tenn. — One organization found a creative way to recruit help.

It was ‘Red Cross Night’ at the Jackson Rockabillys.

Red Cross had a booth at the game tonight to hand out information about the organization and what they do.

It was a chance to highlight and promote their services not just in Madison County, but the 13 other counties they cover.

Red Cross night provided an opportunity to recruit volunteers and emphasize their disaster deployment, which is especially important with hurricane season upon us.

“Just knowing that some people are having the worst days of their entire lives and now we’ve given them an opportunity to register to become official volunteers. In order to do that they simply go to red cross dot org. There’s a volunteer registration tab. They’ll go through and fill that out. Once we receive that that gives us the opportunity to reconnect, contact them, and talk about what the training would look like and how soon we could get them started,” said David Hicks, executive director for the Midwest Chapter of the American Red Cross.

In addition to learning more about volunteer opportunities, you can also go to redcross.org to donate to the cause.
