Linda Joyce Crook Hopkins, age 70, resident of Oakland, Tennessee, departed this life Thursday morning, July 4, 2024 at her home.

Linda was born January 16, 1954 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of the late J.T. Crook and Mamie Johnson Crook. She was a member of Eads Baptist Church and was a homemaker throughout her life. Linda loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed gardening, her Rio Samba roses, Memphis Tigers basketball and Dallas Cowboys football.

Ms. Hopkins is survived by her son, Brian Hopkins (Natalie); two sisters, Edith Joyner (Paul) and Frances Holden; her brother, Wendell Crook (Bernie); two grandchildren, Hunter Hopkins and Aubree Hopkins; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Clyde Crook, Cletus Crook, Bobby Crook, Wade Crook and Thurston Crook.

A visitation for Ms. Hopkins will be from 11 A.M. to 12 noon Monday, July 8, 2024 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Funeral Services will be at 12 noon Monday, July 8, 2024 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Ryan Pattat officiating. Interment will follow in Eads Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jeffrey Crook, Brandon Johnson, Clint Doyle, Jerod Hampton, Justus McCain and Heath Bookout. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Crook, Jason Crook, Johnathan Crook, Chris Crook, Mike Holden, Kevin Nash and Luke Bookout.

The family requests that memorials be directed to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital, 848 Adams Avenue, Memphis, TN 38103.
