Union University hosts faith-based ‘Fuge Camps’

JACKSON, Tenn. — One local university hosts students from across the country for a faith based summer camp.

Union University is in the middle of hosting Fuge Camps.

Fuge Camps have been around since 1979. They’re camps for middle school through high school students to play games, participate in ministry and live the gospel.

There are two types of camps.

Mission Fuge is focused on going off site for community ministry while Centrifuge divides students into groups for recreation and Bible study.

Union Camp Director, Baylor Dillon shares the passion behind his position as union fuge camp director.

“I would not pick any other job besides this. It is exhausting, it’s tiring but it’s a privilege to be exhausted for the gospel and so everybody here, we live for that. That’s why we do what we do,” said Dillon.

Dillon went to Fuge Camps growing up and shares that becoming a staffer has been a cool full circle moment.

Union University has been home to Centrifuge since 1987.
