Celebrating life and remembering lost loved ones
JACKSON, Tenn.—A celebration is held to honor lost loved ones.
One group joined together today at Conger Park in Jackson to remember loved ones gone too soon and uplift one another.
The celebration event began at noon and was expected to continue until 9:30 this evening.
In a celebration of life service, families were invited to join together in support and to honor their lost family members.
The organizer of the event, Angela Givens, tragically lost her son DeAunte, after he was murdered in 2019.
Now she invites other community members and grieving families to join her in this special celebration service meant to uplift the spirits.
The event offered live music, along with karaoke, and a comedy performance and fun for the kids.
“And I just want to have this celebration of life every year to commemorate my son because this is just what he would do for me,” said Angela Givens, DeAunte’s mother.
Organizers hope to continue this event for years to come.
