Josey Scott, former frontman of Saliva, to perform in Selmer

PRESS RELEASE FROM MCNAIRY COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM & MARKETING:

MCNAIRY COUNTY TO HOST INTERNATIONAL TOURING ARTIST JOSEY SCOTT “THE ORIGINAL VOICE OF SALIVA”

MCNAIRY COUNTY, Tennessee (July 15, 2024) – Summer is heating up in McNairy  County and West Tennessee, and the McNairy County Department of Tourism &  Marketing is bringing the heat. Continuing it’s Summer Concert Series, the MCDTM will host The Summer Nights Music Fest featuring international performing artist Josey Scott  “The Original Voice of Saliva” on Saturday, July 27th at the McNairy County AG Event  Center in Selmer, Tennessee. As founder and leader of Saliva, Scott has written and  performed such hits as Click Click Boom, Always, Hero, Ladies & Gentlemen and many  others. Scott has also provided songs for Hollywood blockbusters such as Spider-Man  and the Fast & Furious franchise. Scott’s range and influences have opened many doors  and opportunities to perform the music he loves.

“I have influences from every genre, if I’m honest. I have folk influences and nu metal  influences and really heavy influences and R&B influences,” Scott said in an interview  with Blabbermouth. “Growing up in Memphis, I was surrounded by R&B and hip-hop,  and I love every bit of it. And with a band like mine, we aren’t afraid to go down any of  those roads. We’re not afraid to travel any of those paths.”

The McNairy County AG Event Center opened in October 2023, and since that time has  hosted numerous events. County leadership took the necessary steps to build the arena, an  investment in local economic and community development, that has already resulted in  an increase in sales tax revenue for the county.

“The event with Josey Scott is another investment in our community,” said McNairy  County Director of Tourism & Marketing Director Russell Ingle. “As we move forward

we will offer different types of events and musical genres that speak not only to local  residents, but visitors from around the region. So far we have held country shows, a  rodeo, off-road shows, AG related shows, events that honor veterans, carnivals and other  type events. The show with Josey is just expanding on our commitment to provide high  level entertainment options to residents and visitors.”

In addition to Scott, Ingle says the Summer Night’s event will include opening artists  Cadence and Affliction for the Absent. The show will also pay tribute to Veterans and will  in part benefit the McNairy County Veterans Coalition. Tickets can be purchased online at  https://mcnairyageventcenter.com or at the door the evening of the event.
