Parade shows support for Scotts Hill baseball team as they head for world series
SCOTTS HILL, Tenn. — A local community comes out to show its support of local ball players who are heading to a big championship game.
A parade was held for Scotts Hill’s 14 and 15-year-old Dixie Youth State Champion ball players.
The parade started at Scotts Hill Elementary School, recognizing the ball team who are headed to the world series in South Carolina.
The team’s coach says the players are ready to “Play ball!!”
“Hard work pays off, you know. All the hours on the field and the cage, you know, that all comes into play and will help them grow. I’m nervous, but the boys are really relaxed, you know, and that helps my job with them, you know, they are confident, they know what to do, they’re going to stick to the game plan and we’re going to do what we’ve got to do to win,” said Jake Robbins, head coach for Dixie Youth Baseball.
The parade ended at Scotts Hill City Park as the community gave the team a proper send off to the championship.
Their first game is this Saturday morning.
