Friday brought another round of showers and weak storms to the Mid South. Many locations in West Tennessee have already picked up over 2″. More pop ups will continue this evening before slowly tapering off after the sun goes down. Another round is likely on Saturday and more isolated showers & storms are coming Sunday afternoon. If you have weekend plans just keep an eye on the sky and know where to find shelter if the showers show up in your area. I am not suggestions you cancel your weekend outdoor plans, just know more likely than not you will be dealing with some rain showers. Enjoy the cooler weather through as the heat will be making a return in the middle of next week. Catch the full forecast details below.

TONIGHT:

Chances for rain continued on Friday as a low pressure system connected to a r boundary spun across West Tennessee. Rain showers will slowly taper off tonight after the sun sets, but will be coming back this weekend. Highs on Friday reached the mid to low 80s and Friday night lows will fall down to the low 70s. The winds came out were light and varied in direction on Friday  and tonight on the backside of a low pressure system the winds will continue to stay light or be calm at times. THE WEEKEND:

The weekend will be a little bit more humid than that work week. The winds will come out of the south and that will keep our morning temperatures in the low to mid 70s. Highs will also reach the mid 80s this weekend and a couple upper 80s cannot be ruled out. The heat and humidity will also lead to more pop up showers and storms. Chances for rain this weekend looks higher on Sunday than on Saturday but each day the chances are between 40-60%. If you have weekend plans and are hoping to beat the rain, it probably will not happen. Severe weather or big storms are not likely, but expect to be dealing with showers at times. Skies will be mostly to partly cloudy at times all weekend long.

NEXT WEEK:

Showers and pop up storms will linger in the forecast to kick off next week. The showers will taper off as the week goes on and the heat will look to return in the middle of the week as well. Highs on Monday will make it up to around 90° but mid 90s will look to make an appearance in the middle of the week. Morning lows will start in the low 70s but reach the mid 70s quickly in the middle of the week. Showers are likely on Monday and Tuesday but might clear out some the later the work week progresses.
