Crews respond to small kitchen fire at Liberty Tech
JACKSON, Tenn. — There was a brief scare Monday afternoon as firefighters rushed to a Jackson school.
A fire call went out just after 3:30 p.m. to Liberty Tech High School.
Fire officials said they discovered a small fire when they arrived and believe it was sparked by a pizza oven when some warming boxes fell into it.
School was already dismissed, though a few athletic teams were outside for practice.
Officials with the school system released a statement saying there were no injuries and no damage.
They said the cause is still being determined but appears to be accidental.
