Charlie Grant Collins

Charlie Grant “Gdaddy” Collins, age 72, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.  All services are under the direction of the Bells Funeral Home.

Mr. Charlie was born in Jackson, TN on February 1, 1952, to the late Charlie Collins and Mrs. Ruby Captola Morris Johnson of Jackson, TN.  He proudly served his county in the United States Army and Tennessee National Guard.  Mr. Charlie and his wife, Mrs. Carolyn, were the owners of Brink’s Security Systems of Jackson for over 12 years.  After retirement, Mr. Charlie was a school bus driver for the Madison County School Systems.  He loved baseball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s fan!  Mr. Charlie also enjoyed fishing and playing golf.  He was also known for being a wonderful cook and sweet tea maker.

Along with his mother, he is survived by his wife of over 33 years:  Anne Carolyn Womble Collins; two sons:  Chris Henson (Leigh), Brett Henson (Kathy); one sister:  Thea Briley; his numerous beloved friends; He leaves a legacy of two grandchildren:  Lacy Porch (Blake), Morgan Davis (Addison), three great-grandchildren:  Brooks Porch, Grayson Porch, Hensleigh Davis; and two nieces:  Joanie DeBerry and Mindy Carnell.

The Collins Family are honoring his wishes for cremation and further information will be announced as it becomes available by the Bells Funeral Home.
