Madison County Sheriff’s Office investigates deceased individual found in western Madison County

UPDATE (8/09/24): Sheriff’s Office identifies deceased woman found in ditch
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Madison County Sheriff’s Office received a call at approximately 11:30 a.m. concerning a possible deceased individual lying in a ditch off of St. Johns Road in western Madison County.
Deputies and investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division responded promptly to the scene and are conducting an active investigation.
Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased individual lying in a ditch. The unidentified deceased individual appeared to be an adult, Black, female and was wearing a one-piece yellow outfit and white sandals. The cause of death is unknown at this time.
The body has been transported to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
Currently, the case is still under investigation, and no further information is available. The sheriff’s office is working diligently to gather all necessary details and will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.
