1948 – 2024
Linda Catherine Lott Talkington, age 76, resident of Oakland, Tennessee and
wife of Paul Talkington, went home to be with the Lord Sunday afternoon, August
4, 2024 at her home.
Linda was born April 28, 1948 in Grand Junction, Tennessee, the daughter of the
late Gordon Lott and Mary Cason Lott. She graduated from Bolton High School
and University of Memphis with a major in education. She was employed as a
teacher in the Fayette County School System and was a purchasing agent at
Kelloggs for many years before her retirement.
Linda was married November 5, 2023 to Paul Talkington. She was a thoughtful
person who sent cards to people on a weekly basis and was a compassionate
caregiver to many others. She loved chocolates, shopping and frogs and enjoyed
spending time with her grandbabies.
Mrs. Talkington is survived by her husband, Paul Talkington; three daughters,
Laura Brister (Lowell) of Lakeland, TN, Donna Moss (David) of Germantown, TN
and Christie Wilmoth (Tyler) of Corinth, MS; two sons, Steve Hamilton (Christy)
of Arlington, TN and Kyle Talkington of Dyersburg, TN; three sisters, Teresa
Ciarloni (Billy) of Hardy, AR, Julia Keith of Nashville, TN and Annette Hickerson
of Bartlett, TN; her brother, Jim Lott (Susan) of Nashville, TN; thirteen
grandchildren, Jenna, Tiffany, Kaitlyn, Mark, Matthew, Luke, Brennan, Savannah,
Joshua, Jordan, Cassidy, Lindsey and Grady; eight great-grandchildren, Marci,
Matthew, Luke, Lydia, Issac, Oliver, Theo and Zachary; and her beloved pets,
Frankie and Charlie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Lee; her daughter, Tonja Reaves; her son, Bo Lee; and her sister, Edna Burns.
A visitation for Mrs. Talkington will be from 1 to 3 P.M. Sunday, August 11, 2024
at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Memorial Services will be at 3
P.M. Sunday, August 11, 2024 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland
with Bro. Mike Hollaway, pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Rossville,
officiating.
