Extended Dry Period Coming, Sunshine For All
Sunday Forecast Update
After a week of rain and brutal heat, a much needed break is coming to West Tennessee. Things will be quiet at the Storm Team 7 Weather Center for a while as we enter our dry season. We have the details for your upcoming week right here.
Dry Season Starting:
Cooler temperatures are on the way to West Tennessee after a cold front moved through the area Sunday morning. Temperatures will remain in the mid-80s until the later part of next week with very few clouds in the sky. As we enter the driest part of the year, expect little to no rain over the next 6-10 days as the Climate Prediction Center says we’ll be much drier than normal.
NEXT WEEK:
We will get a break from summer for several days next week starting Monday. As we get into the middle part of next week things are looking much more autumn-like with overnight lows in the mid to low 60s. So far, Tuesday appears to be the coolest morning of the week with Wednesday right behind it.
Warming Trend:
We do see a bit of a warming trend into the later part of next week and possible into as far as Labor Day Weekend. Long range models hint at summer making another appearance by the end of August.
Tropical Outlook:
Ernesto has weakened to a tropical storm and will move northeast through the Atlantic basin possibly creating coastal hazards in Canada’s Maritime region, but aside from that, the tropics are currently quiet and there are no systems forecast to develop over the next seven days.
