Police investigating early morning fatal motorcycle/SUV crash

JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a SUV early Sunday morning.

According to the Jackson Police Department, the accident happened around 1:15 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Casey Jones Lane and the Highway 45 By-Pass.

According to preliminary reports, a white SUV was turning north on the 45 By-Pass as a motorcycle traveling south entered the intersection and collided with the SUV.

EMS responded to the scene, however, the motorcyclist was found unresponsive. The victim was airlifted to an area hospital and later died from their injuries. Investigators say the driver of the SUV was reported to be uninjured.

A Jackson Police Department pole camera captured the incident and is under investigation.
