Annual ‘Circles of Hope’ telethon wraps up successful fundraising event

JACKSON, Tenn. — The 41st annual ‘Circles of Hope’ telethon wraps up in the Hub City Sunday evening after being broadcast live from the Carl Perkins Civic Center in downtown Jackson.

The Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse has people calling on their mission that essentially helps both parents and children meet the practical needs of preserving and improving their quality of family life in West Tennessee.

“We have several people that are here that come from all of our counties in West Tennessee. But, we have an amazing line of volunteers that we just could not out this show on without,” said Madelyn Hefner, the event and fundraising coordinator with the ‘Circles of Hope’ telethon.

The center’s CEO, Pam Nash expresses the impact the center has on the community.

“It’s a very positive influence because if you have a desire to help in any way at all.. you have an opportunity at the Carl Perkins Center,” said Nash.

According to the center’s website, it cost approximately $450,000 for the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse to operate to reach across all the counties they serve. So, making your pledge to the telethon is vital in helping provide to children who need it.

“The ‘Circles of Hope’ telethon is so important to West Tennessee children. This is our main fundraiser and we serve 20 counties in West Tennessee, so this day is all about celebrating the kids. We’re raising money for them to make sure that they have a better life,” said Nash.

The benefits of this program provide all services free of charge to each client.

The telethon aired from 1 to 6 p.m. on WBBJ-TV, ABC 7 and raised $1, 541, 128 for the Exchange Club/Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
