Evelyn C. Rogers

Evelyn C. Rogers, 87, resident of Germantown, Tennessee departed this life on August 25, 2024 from complications of dementia at The Summit of Germantown.

A visitation for Mrs. Rogers will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Friday, August 31, 2024 at Kirby Woods Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be at 11 A.M. Friday, August 31, 2024 at Kirby Woods Baptist Church with Baylon Hilliard officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery at Whiteville.

Mrs. Rogers was a graduate of Fayette Ware High School and was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Hubert H. Rogers; parents, Morris and Louise Clark; and brother, Alvin Clark. She is survived by her brother, Harris Clark; her children, Cynthia VanTrieste (Martin), David Rogers (Janet) and Karen Rogers; grandchildren, Jennifer VanTrieste, Susan Obbagy (Paul), Mary Lenz (Kevin) and Christi Phillips; and her great-granddaughter, Ruth Sappington.

Evelyn was a devoted wife and mother, and was also very active in her church community. She taught Vacation Bible School and was involved in WMU and Sunday School while attending Glen Park Baptist Church, Balmoral Baptist Church and Kirby Woods Baptist Church.

Evelyn’s devotion as a mother was most evident with her special-needs daughter, Karen. Upon Karen’s birth, Evelyn devoted herself to caring for Karen as well as serving as her advocate. Only recent health problems could prevent her from caring for Karen.
