‘Turf Tank’ robot automates maintenance work for City of Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — A new robot is making its way into the Hub City.

The Turf Tank robot streamlines the process by painting football field numbers accurately and efficiently, eliminating the need for manual stencils.

This innovative technology ensures precise and professional-looking numbers on your field, enhancing the overall quality of the sports experience.

This Turf Tank robot will also assist with painting accurate lines on the Jackson Parks and Rec soccer fields. The robot can paint all nine fields in a day and use half the amount of paint when compared to the traditional way.

The machine doesn’t take away any positions from people but frees them up to maximize time in other areas.

“Gives our manpower more to go and do other things instead of pulling screens and painting, physically walking a painter. 22 to 25 minutes to paint a full soccer field. The amount of paint it uses, minute compared to the old method of someone painting,” said Roger Waddell, groundskeeping director for the City of Jackson.

The robot also has capabilities of assisting on baseball field or even lining parking lots.
