Local artists takeover downtown Medina
MEDINA, Tenn.—A local resident in Jackson coordinates an artist takeover event in Medina.
This is the time for artists to showcase their work and sell some of their favorite pieces.
Over thirty took over downtown Medina to perform live painting sessions.
This initiative helps broaden the aspect of art in many forms that help people express themselves.
Participants hope to encourage people to come support local artist and enjoy the free event.
“My inspiration for art basically all revolves around therapy for mental illness and mental health. Doing things like that and spreading the word about the ways that art can help people. We want to be all over West Tennessee promoting the local talent and letting people experience art for themselves,” said Joshua Blankinship, Art Coordinator.
There is an artist reception event for the non-profit Healing Arts Project Incorporated at Floral Cakes in downtown Jackson on Sunday, September 29, from 3 to 7 in the evening.
