Local county commissioner accused of running ‘chop shop’
HARDEMAN COUNTY, Tenn. — A Hardeman County commissioner is arrested and is being charged with running a chop shop.
Joseph Jenkins is facing 13 counts of theft. According to an incident report from the Hardeman County Sheriff’s Office, on August 27, deputies with the Hardeman County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant at a residence on Park Swain Road in Grand Junction.
The report says during the search, there were several business cards inside a stolen Chevrolet truck that had “Joseph Jenkins for county commissioner” written on them.
After the search, another warrant was issued for a property belonging to Jenkins. The report says that during the search, several vehicles came back as stolen and were taken for evidence.
Jenkins was booked into the Hardeman County Jail. At this time, there is no further information available.
