Traffic stop leads to drug charges for 3 Martin men

MARTIN, Tenn. — A weekend traffic stop leads to drug charges for three men.

Police say they stopped a Honda Civic around noon Sunday on Lindell Street for a light law violation.

A passenger in the vehicle, Dylan Washington, 21, of Martin had an active arrest warrant out of Weakley County for failure to appear, according to a release from the Martin Police Department.

A probable cause search of the vehicle led officers to 17.8 grams of marijuana and a set of digital scales, according to the release.

The driver, Shea Taylor, 20, of Martin, was released on a criminal summons for simple possession of schedule VI.

Washington was arrested and charged with simple possession of schedule VI and the outstanding warrant.

Another passenger, Jvon Cavitt, 19, of Martin, was arrested and charged with possession of schedule VI with intent and drug paraphernalia.

All three were arraigned Monday in Weakley County General Sessions Court.
