Lexington City Schools closed Friday, March 17, due to illnesses

LEXINGTON, Tenn. — Lexington City Schools will be closed Friday, March 17, due to illnesses.

School officials say an increasing number of flu and strep throat cases at Caywood Elementary and Lexington Middle School are to blame for the closures.

They say there is a rising number of absences among students and teachers at both schools.

School will resume at both schools after spring break on March 27.
