Parents charged with child abuse, neglect after infant suffers ‘serious bodily injuries’
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE HENRY COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE:
On Tuesday September 10, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office received information from medical professionals of a two-month-old infant that was suffering from suspicious medical issues. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division along with Tennessee Department of Children Services did initiate an investigation.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the two-month-old infant suffered from serious bodily injures that were “non-accidental.”
The infant is the child of Leah Michell Lee Zicot and Dalton Tyler Bennett.
On September 12, Leah Michell Lee Zicot and Dalton Tyler Bennett, both of 1295 Wimberly Road, were charged with Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect. Officers believe that the infant child was in the care and custody of Zicot and Bennett while sustaining the injuries.
Both Zicot and Bennett are being held under a $800,000 bond.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office CID is working jointly with the Tennessee Department of Children Services, and the 24th Judicial District Attorney Generals Office. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
