City of Bradford celebrates Doodle Soup Days
BRADFORD, Tenn. — One community is serving up small town hospitality and a savory bowl of doodle soup.
Once a year the community of Bradford celebrates a one-of-a-kind festival known as Doodle Soup Days.
Bradford is known as the Doodle Soup capital of the world. You might be wondering… What is doodle soup?
It’s a salty vinegary based soup and it’s often served with hot biscuits or crackers.
In celebration of the annual event, Wednesday the city held youth night at Bradford city park. There was also a community church service at Cumberland Presbyterian church.
There are events scheduled throughout the weekend, but the weather may cause some changes.
“Unfortunately, the hurricane that’s going to be coming has taken away the opportunity for us to have a lot of our large outside events. So we’ve moved a lot of things indoors,” shared Shannon Barton. She is the chairperson for Doodle Soup Days.
