Female juvenile injured in apparent drive-by shooting
JACKSON, Tenn. — An update to a east Jackson shooting that we brought to you Wednesday night.
We received a call from our WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Tipsters a little after 7 p.m. of officers on the scene at Hardee Street and O’Neal Street, just off of North Royal in east Jackson.
When our crew arrived, they found Jackson Police, the Jackson Fire Department, and EMS on the scene.
Crime tape was already up along with several evidence markers that lined the street.
According to a press release from the Jackson Police Department we received Thursday afternoon, upon arrival, officers found a juvenile female suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
Witnesses reported that a vehicle drove by the residence at a high rate of speed, firing multiple shots.
The victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS where she received treatment and has since been released.
