Veterans Resource Fair connects those who served to needs

JACKSON, Tenn. — A veterans resource fair took place on Friday morning in east Jackson at the T.R .White Sportsplex, bringing various vendors together to serve the needs of veterans.

This was the first fair of its kind for Tennessee Homeless Solutions to put on in the City of Jackson.

Vendors and partners present to help attendees included the City of Jackson, the VA and its numerous branches, the IRS, along with many more resources.

Amy McDonald, Director of Tennessee Homeless Solutions, and Jackson Vice Mayor Johnny Dodd shared some details on the importance of having an event like this.

“Tennessee Homeless Solutions serves the homeless and the most at risk veterans in our area,” McDonald said. “And having them here today, we’ve been transporting all morning, for those that didn’t have transportation. Getting them here and getting them connected, to the resources that they need.”

“I think with all the vendors and services that we have in here today, I hope they leave with something that they will be able to provide the services that they haven’t been receiving,” Dodd said.
