Coolest Morning in 6 Months Today, Cooler Weather Coming Next Week! Latest on Milton!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
We feel down into the mid 40s last night in Jackson making for the coldest morning this fall. We had fallen down to 48° back on August 9th and around 50° a few other times this fall. The last time we were cooler than 45° was April 23rd, about 6 months ago. There is a chance early next week we fall down into the 30s in West Tennessee, but will it be cold enough for frost? We will let you know tonight at 5 on WBBJ and have the latest on Hurricane Milton who is a cat 3 storm coming up here.

The weather looks great as we wrap up the work week and head into the weekend. The next front is coming late Sunday night or early Monday and will only bring a few showers if any rain at all. But it is going to bring the coldest weather this fall and likely our first 30s for most of us. It could also lead to our first frost in some areas. On an average year we see our first frost in the middle of October so it wouldn’t be a shock for it to happen. We will keep you posted over the next several days as the front gets closer.

THIS WEEK:
After making it up to around 90° the previous 3 days, Monday we were back down to around normal for this time of the year. A cold front came racing through Sunday night and dropped highs from the low 90s to the mid 70s for most of us. The cooler weather will stick around for a few days. Lows tonight will fall down to the upper 40s and will hang around 50° for the next several nights.

The winds were out of the north all day on Monday and will stay out of the north or northeast for the entire work week. This will keep the humidity down, likely keep the clouds away and prevent any rain from showing up this week. We may not see much at all for clouds until maybe the weekend. Temperatures will slowly climb each day this week. Highs will reach the upper 70s to near 80° on Tuesday and Wednesday. We should warm back up into the low 80s on Thursday and Friday. Friday night football looks like it is going to be great again this week across the entire Mid-South.
THE WEEKEND:
The warm up will continue into the weekend for us in West Tennessee. Like the previous weekend, we should see mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 80s. We should fall just short of record highs again. Also like last weekend, it appears a cold front will be coming late Sunday night, dropping temperatures again into next week. The front could bring a shower or two late Sunday night into Monday morning, but as of now, we are not expecting much.
The winds will come out of the southwest this weekend and that could bring a few more clouds, but we are still expecting more sun than clouds this weekend. Very little if any rain is forecast from this front as it appears to be another dry front. We have not recorded any rain in October and most of us likely will not for at least the first 2 weeks of the month. The front will bring in the coldest weather though this fall. Lows could fall to the low 40s and highs will only reach the 60s to kick off next week. So far, frost doesn’t appear to be likely but it is coming soon we think.
