MVP of The Week Billy Wilkins

MVP of The Week Billy Wilkins

Lets start things off with the Trenton Peabody Goldentide  as our MVP of the week goes to Billy Wilkins.
He had 10 carries for  124 yards with two touchdowns with 1 reception for 29 yards.
A performance like that helped them get a win over Camden with a final of 41 to 7. Wilkins
plays running back, full back and linebacker. But, his skills as a runner are top tier. He has patience
in between the tackles makes guys miss and knows when to make a cut. One of the bright spots about him is that
he doesn’t always look to take it to the house, he’s okay with picking up 4 or 5 yards per carry.  We caught up with him
at practice and he spoke about the reason for his success,
what he does to keep the team energy up and what players he
models his game afterwards.

“I like the give a lot of the credit to the offensive line. They work their tails off and my quarterback he’s amazing. I love just playing on the offense. Just bringing the energy we tend to get in over our
heads or sometimes as things go down i just try to keep the team up keep it positive, you
know. Sort of i kinda just watch film on players that use to go here you know Khalik Ganaway was
a really good running back. My brother Jacquez Wilkins was a really good running back and Jarrell I just like watching them just to see how they played the game.”
They are currently on a bye week but will get things back going next week as they go head to head with JCM.
