Golf tournament helps raise money, awareness for Isaiah 117 House

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — The nonprofit Isaiah 117 House hosted a golf tournament Friday.

Held at the Humboldt Golf and Country Club, the event raised awareness and funds for the Isaiah 117 Houses in Gibson, Dyer and Crockett County. Attendees enjoyed a lunch at 12 p.m. followed by tee off at 1 p.m.

Isaiah 117 House is a nonprofit organization that provides physical and emotional support in a safe and loving home for children awaiting foster care placement.

“This is our first golf tournament and the response is astounding. We truly have been bombarded and blessed incredibly by the response that we’ve had to this event,” said Bethany Luckey, care coordinator.

Currently, when a child is removed in a county without an Isaiah 117 House, the child must wait in the Child Welfare Services office.

Isaiah 117 House allows for that same child to never go to an office, but rather a home with loving volunteers to care for them.
