Madison Academic Lady Mustangs are heading to state

JACKSON, Tenn. — While ranking number one in their district, one local high school is excited about continuing their season.

Madison Academic Lady Mustangs soccer team will have their official state send off Tuesday afternoon. This is the fourth time that these players have made it to state.

For senior players, this is their fourth time having this opportunity to return to state. Captain Mary Kinsley Neye says, with this being her last year, she hopes that their team can go to state and win.

Coach Jeremy Young says that the girls practice and play with intensity.

“We have a tradition here at Madison where we have the walk out. So, all of the students will line the grand staircase over here in the lobby, and parents of the players will show up, to cheer them on as they’re leaving out. But, we like to do something like that to commemorates their work throughout the season and things like that, it kind of cheers them on as they leave,” said Young.

Good luck to those Lady Mustangs as they head to Chattanooga for round one of the state tournament.
