Helen Smith
1942 – 2024
Helen Smith, age 82, of Somerville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on Brad Meadow Lane. Born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on September 11, 1942, Helen lived a full and meaningful life, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was preceded in death by her first husband, David Willey, and her beloved daughter, Karen Willey.
In 2000, Helen and her family moved to Fayette County, Tennessee, where they built their lives together in the close-knit community. Helen was employed for many years at Deluxe Check Printers, from which she retired. She formed lifelong friendships with her colleagues, many of whom have already passed on.
Helen’s unwavering faith was an important part of her life, and she was a devoted member of the Baptist church. To her friends and family, she was simply “Helen” – a warm and kind presence who touched many lives. She enjoyed traveling, was a frequent visitor to Macy’s, and had a passion for collecting vases, which adorned her home. Helen also dearly loved her dog, Max, a small Maltese who was her constant companion and brought her endless joy. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Helen is survived by her devoted husband, John R. Smith, as well as her daughters, Kimberly Luker and Tracy Robinson. She will be deeply missed by her sisters, Deana Cusick, Wilma, and Lois Anderson, who shared in many of her life’s precious moments.
