One local city celebrates 200 years

LEXINGTON, Tenn.—The City of Lexington kicks off their annual fall festival and bicentennial celebration.

The event began with a small delay from rain, but that didn’t stop the fun downtown.

The day is full of fun with a corn-hole tournament, kids costume contest, and a pet parade.

There was also a chili cook-off, local shops, food trucks, and live entertainment.

Lexington celebrates many years of its history, and city officials recognize former city leaders and the three of the oldest businesses.

Guests were also invited to participate in a unique living history walking tour or could get a jump on holiday shopping by visiting some of the local vendors.

“It’s been a great event. It’s the biggest we’ve ever had in downtown Lexington. So we’re thrilled that people showed up today and joined us in our celebration,” said Linda Lipscomb, Remax Unlimited.

The City of Lexington is celebrating 200 years in existence.
