Deborah Kitchens Wiseman
Deborah Kitchens Wiseman
1948 – 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah Kitchens Wiseman on
November 2, 2024, at the age of 76. Deborah was born on September 26, 1948, to William R.
and Joyce Kitchens in Memphis, TN.
Deborah was married to the love of her life, Billy Gene Wiseman, until his death. Deborah, more
affectionately known as Debs to her family, was known for her strong will. She was going to tell
it like it was, whether you agreed or not. You always knew where you stood with her. She retired
from working at the Court House, where she knew everyone. She enjoyed retirement and the
flexibility it brought.
She was always willing to make a cake or pie, whether for a child’s birthday party, a family
event, holiday, or just because you wanted a taste. Her cakes and pies were delicious. She
loved babies and celebrated each new birth with joy. She was particular about her home,
especially the fringe on her rug. She would jokingly scold you for messing it up.
She loved to dance. She was often found taking a country line dancing class or hitting up the
local spots to do the jive. She collected elephants and had many on display. She loved to go to
Branson, MO.
She loved her son, Greg. He was her right-hand guy. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist
Church.
Preceded in death by: Father and Mother William R. & Joyce Kitchens; husband Billy Gene
Wiseman; and sister Phyllis Sanderlin.
Survived by: son Greg Wiseman; grandson Hayden Wiseman; great-grandchild Kinsley; sister
Paula (Kitchens) Basek (John); brother Bill Kitchens (Becky), and she is survived by several
loving nieces and nephews.
