Team of The Week Dyer County

Team of The Week Dyer County

We start things out of Choctaw country. As Dyer County is our team of the week
last week they secured a round 2 playoff win over Crockett county with a final of 28 to 14.  In that matchup
they ran the ball very efficiently and did a great mix of passing. Guys like Ja’Bari Livingston average 89 yards per game and Korey Taylor who
average 68 yards carrying  the torch for the back field and on the defensive end Gavin Lynn and Braydon Hendrix did a great job of getting to the quarterback and rushing
the passer. This Dyer County team is a team that is resilient its been games when they were down by two scores but they never got down on themselves.
They stick to the game plan and come out on the winning side as they have all season. We caught up with head coach David Whittle  and he spoke about Friday’s win, being a physical team, the key to slowing down Melrose,
and staying the course.

“I thought are kids you know played hard at the end of the day i thought we were a little bit more physical and got the win. Preach being a more physical team you know and were preaching that again this week you know play a great team this week so we gotta be more physical again this week then we were last week. If we have a lot of missed tackles their gone break it and go 70, 80 yards so we gotta rally to the football and really tackle well when we get there. Teams have jumped on us and got us down and we just gotta stay the course kids dont panic you know and i think that serves them well.”
To catch the Choctaws in action
they hit the road to face off with Melrose tomorrow
at 7:00 pm.
