JSCC Athletics accepting donations for inaugural toy drive
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson State Community College Athletics Department is preparing for its inaugural toy drive.
This initiative is set for December 14 at 9 a.m. in the JSCC Jackson campus parking lot in front of the Nest Gymnasium. Children must be present in the car to receive a gift.
Over the next couple of weeks, JSCC will be collecting toys for children of all ages, from newborn to 17 years old. Toys can be brought in Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“It’s going to be something that’s going to be great for our community. We’re looking at it as a community building event, if you will, and just really trying to bridge that gap between Jackson State Community College athletics and our community to just bring us closer together,” said Kevin Lynum, athletic director.
JSCC Athletics is also offering free admission to basketball games for those who donate a new, unopened toy for a child aged newborn to 17. This promotion will run until December 14.
