THIS WEEK:

Another cold front is on the way tonight and will bring cooler weather and maybe even a few snow flurries with it to West Tennessee. Accumulations are not expected and the closer you are to the Kentucky Lake area the more likely chance you will have to encounter some of these flurries. If you are heading to the parade tonight in Jackson, be sure to bundle up because regardless if you see some flurries tonight, it is going to be very cold.

Lows Monday night will fall down to around 20°. Some teens will even be possible in our northern counties before the sun comes up on Tuesday. Skies will be partly cloudy tonight and any flurries flying around will move out by midnight. The winds will come out of the north and stay around 5-10 MPH most of the night. The wind chill Tuesday morning will feel in the teens for everyone so be sure to have the winter gear ready for the kids before you send them out to wait for the bus Tuesday morning.

Tuesday highs will only reach up to around 40° but we should see plenty of sunshine. The winds will be light out of the north on Tuesday between 5-10 MPH. Tuesday night will again be cold with lows falling down to the mid 20s by Wednesday morning. The winds will shift back to the southwest on Wednesday and that will try to warm us up a few degrees into the afternoon. Highs on Wednesday will reach the low 50s. There is a low pressure system coming up from the south and a late cold front that could bring a few showers to our southern counties in the afternoon and evening on Wednesday. If you live along the Mississippi border you will have a much better chance of seeing a few showers than if you live north of Madison County. Wednesday night lows will fall down to the low 30s.

Behind Wednesday’s front, even colder weather will be on the way. If you didn’t fall down to the teens Tuesday morning, you probably will on Friday morning. Thursday highs will only make it to the mid to upper 30s from the brisk northerly wind. We should see the sun dominate most of the day on Thursday but it will be cold all day long. High temperatures will try to warm up a bit on Friday but not much. The winds will still come out of the north most of the day allowing highs to only reach the low 40s. Friday night lows will fall down to the mid 20s and expect mostly sunny skies on Friday.

THE WEEKEND:

This weekend we are going to see a little bit of a warm up due to the winds returning back to the south and southwest. Highs on Saturday will reach the low 50s and Sunday night will make it back up above normal for the first time in a while up to the upper 50s. Saturday night will be warm and drop down to around 50°. This will be from the southerly winds and increase in the dew point from some moisture streaming up from the south. The next system will come through on Sunday and bring a round of rain showers with it. There is a chance for a few storms to mix in but there appears to be a better chance for thunderstorms on Monday as the next system passes by. There is a chance for some severe weather on Monday so we will be watching that closely as the week goes by. Expect a partly cloudy day on Saturday, mostly cloudy day on Sunday and cloudy skies for next Monday.
