These storms will track to the east and will be dropping southward as the evening progresses. We are under a level 1 out of 5 (marginal risk) this evening. Please keep an eye on the weather before you head out this evening. We will have a full report right here.

THIS WEEK:
Heavy rain showers and thunderstorms will move through West Tennessee this evening before clearing out after 10pm tonight. We are expecting some intense heavy rain, lightning and some gusty winds but overall our severe weather threat is low. We were under a level 1/5 (marginal risk) for severe weather this evening. We will be tracking these storms all evening long the 7 Storm Team Weather Center. It has been a warm and humid Monday as well and the warm and humid weather will be sticking around until Wednesday night across the mid south. Cooler and drier weather will move in on Thursday and stick around for the back half of the work week and last through the weekend.
The skies will clear out a bit later tonight and the winds will change from the southeast to the northwest behind the front. The front is coming in from the west and not the north so overnight lows will not drop much. We will start our Tuesday in the upper 40s. Tuesday highs will rebound back to around 60° as the winds will shift slowly to the southeast by Tuesday night. We will see partly cloudy skies on Tuesday with some sunshine during the middle of the day. Tuesday night will be warm and stay in the mid to upper 50s all night. This will set the state for another round of showers possible gusty storms Tuesday night that will continue into the day on Wednesday.

We will likely be under another marginal risk (1/5) for severe storms Tuesday night into the day on Wednesday. The storms will be very similar to the ones we saw on Monday. Wednesday highs will reach up to around 60° for the first part of the day but drop quickly behind the front in the evening. We should fall down to around the mid 30s by Thursday morning. Any rain and storms on Wednesday should move out Wednesday night starting a cold and dry spell to move in.

Thursday highs will only reach up to around 50° but we will see mostly sunny skies. The winds will come out of the northwest on Thursday and stay out of the north on Friday as well. Thursday night lows will be chilly again and drop down to around the freezing mark of 32°. Friday is going to be a very cold day as the arctic air will begin to funnel back on it. Friday will be mostly sunny, but highs will only reach the low 40s and Friday night lows will drop back down to the low 20s again. We will be dry Thursday and Friday but it is going to be cold both days.
THE WEEKEND:
Winter officially kicks off on Saturday at 3:21am (the winter solstice) and it is going to feel very winter-like this weekend. The weekend is going to start out quite chilly for all of the Mid South. Saturday morning lows in West Tennessee will be in the low 20s and highs on Saturday will only make it up to around 40° again. We will see mostly sunny skies this weekend but it will feel quite winter-like for both days. Sunday morning temperatures will start out again in the low to mid 20s and highs on Sunday, just like Saturday will only reach the low 40s at best. The winds will come out of the north all weekend long keeping our temperatures down. We will be dry this weekend but the next chances for rain and maybe some storms will be back Monday into Tuesday next week.
