Two people dead in apparent murder-suicide

OBION COUNTY, Tenn. — The Obion County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a possible murder-suicide that left two people dead. 

On Tuesday, December 17, at approximately 2:30 p.m., deputies responded to a call of two unresponsive adults at a home in the 5800 block of Martin Highway.  Upon arriving, deputies discovered two deceased adults inside the home. 

Nancy Trejo Torrez, 40-years old, and Silverio Acebedo, 43-years old, were discovered deceased following what appears to be a murder-suicide. 

“It appears to be a domestic violence situation that went bad,” said Captain Scott Watkins, Obion County Sheriff’s Department. “We are still investigating.”

Watkins said the department is unclear at this time as to what prompted the incident and the extent of Torrez and Acebedo’s relationship. He said there was a firearm involved in the incident but did not provide any additional details regarding the firearm.
